In this cult sci-fi action film starring Sean Connery, in the distant future the world is divided between two classes, the Barbarians and the Elite - with the former working in poverty and misery to support the decadence of the latter. The Elite answer only to their god, a gigantic stone image known as Zardoz. Haunted by doubt about Zardoz's true divinity, a member of the Elite, Zed (Connery), chooses to investigate. His disbelief is confirmed when the god proves to be a fraud and thus begins an odyssey to reveal the hoax and uncover the secrets of the gods!
